At Precise Tool & Manufacturing, relationships have always been central to our growth. That principle was on full display during a recent and extraordinary moment in our company’s 51-year history: a personal visit from Tak Yamazaki, the President of MAZAK Japan.
This wasn’t a quick stop or symbolic gesture. Mr. Yamazaki traveled from Japan to Rochester, New York, to personally tour our facility, meet our leadership team, and continue building on the close partnership. His visit is not only a major point of pride for us—it sends a strong message to our customers, vendors, and peers that Precise Tool is recognized globally as a serious force in modern precision manufacturing.
A Shop Worth Seeing
During the visit, Mr. Yamazaki was given a full tour of our 250,000-square-foot facility, guided by three generations of the Gizzi family. He was welcomed by our company President, John Gizzi, alongside his father John Gizzi Sr., who founded the business over five decades ago. Joining them was plant manager Steve Colopietro, and John’s three children—Rose, Johnny, and Jacob Gizzi—all actively involved in leadership roles. This moment was a perfect representation of what Precise Tool stands for: multigenerational commitment to excellence, continual investment in people and technology, and long-term relationships built on trust and reliability.
From small milling and turning, to large horizontal and vertical machining centers. Mr. Yamazaki explored our tool crib, Coordinate Measuring Machines, shipping station, and our extra high bay machining bay. He was also introduced to our newest building expansion project, which will continue to increase our capacity and further support our ability to meet demanding customer requirements.
A Deep Partnership with MAZAK—Backed by Over 80 Machines
Precise Tool has long been committed to Mazak equipment. In fact, our shop floor is home to over 80 MAZAK CNC machines, making us one of the most MAZAK-integrated facilities in North America. Our fleet includes everything from legacy horizontal boring mills still producing with precision, to brand-new HCN-5000 NEO machines with dual pallets for optimized throughput.
We also operate a wide range of MAZAK 5-axis machining centers, including the VARIAXIS i-600, i-700, i-800, and the massive i-1050, which extends our capabilities to large, multi-surface parts that demand exacting tolerances. Additional MAZAK equipment includes multiple Quick Turn lathes and FJV 60/120 vertical machining centers, giving us true full-spectrum CNC capabilities, from small, tight-tolerance components to large-scale, heavy-duty parts weighing thousands of pounds.
These machines are only part of the story. What sets Precise Tool apart is the way we operate them, with a trained team, disciplined systems, and deep knowledge of both programming and production efficiency. That’s why this visit from Mr. Yamazaki matters. It validates the strategic partnership we’ve built with MAZAK, and reflects their trust in how we represent their brand on the shop floor every day.
More Than a Visit—A Mark of Confidence
For current and future customers, a visit like this should serve as a powerful signal. It confirms that Precise Tool is more than a capable vendor—we are a recognized and valued partner by one of the world’s most innovative machine tool manufacturers. Mr. Yamazaki’s time with our leadership team demonstrates confidence in our processes, our equipment, and our people.
This type of recognition also reinforces the value we bring to OEMs across aerospace, defense, power generation, energy, medical, and advanced manufacturing. Our capabilities are not theoretical—they are proven, tested, and now globally acknowledged at the highest levels of the CNC world.
We also gifted him a custom aluminum globe which spins, has Precise and MAZAK milled onto their countries, with a Japanese statement of unity—"Together Success—in both Japanese and English!
